History
1993, within the framework of H-XA1752 - International Council for Science (ICSU), taking over from and expanding the activities of a former committee which was set up in 1961, Paris (France), with the title Inter-Union Commission on Science Teaching and subsequently modified to a Scientific Committee of ICSU by 12th General Assembly of ICSU, 1968, Paris, with the title Committee on the Teaching of Science (CTS). Subsequently referred to as Committee on Capacity Building in Science (CCBS).
Aims
Advance public understanding of science; use the Internet to decrease isolation of scientists everywhere and to assist in improving primary school science education, particularly in developing countries.
