1958, USA, as as American Council for Nationalities Service (ACNS), upon merger of Common Council for American Unity and American Federation of International Institutes. 1981, ACNS merges with US Committee for Refugees. Name changed to, Immigration and Refugee Services of America (IRSA), 1 Jan 1994. Current name adopted, 2004.

Aims

Address the needs and rights of persons in forced or voluntary migration worldwide through advocating for fair and humane public policy, facilitating and providing direct professional services, and promoting the full participation of migrants in their new communities.
