Full titles in English/French/Spanish: Committee of Protestant Churches in Germany for Service Overseas -- Comité des Eglises protestantes allemandes pour le service outre-mer -- Comité de las Iglesias Protestantes de Alemania para el Servicio en Ultramar. Ceased to exist, 2001, when merged with U-XG9636 - Kirchlicher Entwicklungsdienst (KED), Committee for Ecumenical Mission and Service of G-XG9635 - Association of Protestant Churches and Missions in Germany, U-XG1257 - Joint Conference Church and Development and U-XF1549 - Protestant Association for Cooperation in Development, into U-XG1396 - Church Development Service.

Aims

Participate in worldwide exchange by recruiting Christian personnel to assist local staff primarily in Africa, Asia and Latin America; support Christian churches, church-related groups and nongovernmental organizations in their work for just, democratic and sustainable societies; participate in development work in Germany through support for returned development personnel and recruiting ecumenical personnel for German development agencies.
