The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1977. Previously also referred to as League for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transsexual Esperantists -- Association internationale des gays et lesbiennes espérantistes.

Aims

Create international solidarity and cooperation among members, thereby supporting efforts to promote Esperanto and to fully integrate gays and lesbians in society; work towards the end of language discrimination by educating people in gay circles about the world's language problem and about how it can be solved with Esperanto; work towards the end of anti-gay discrimination by educating people in Esperanto circles about gay men and lesbians, their value in the world today, and the problems they face.
