Sep 1954, Istanbul (Turkey). 15 Oct 1961, Athens (Greece), merged with European Association for the Study of Refugee Problems -- Association européenne pour l'étude du problème des réfugiés AER - which had been set up Sep 1950, Rome (Italy), and first met 1951, Hannover (Germany FR) - to form a new association but retaining the same name. Registered in Liechtenstein.

Aims

Promote, intensify and coordinate scholarly research in the refugee problem, by mutual comparison and exchange of results, by establishing general working principles, by publications and dissemination of results achieved in any other appropriate form; contribute, through scientific findings, to the search for theoretical and practical solutions to the problem.
