A forerunner of World Health Organization (WHO), set up 22 July 1946, which took over peace-time aspects of the work of the Health Division of UNRRA and the functions of International Office for Public Health (OIHP). Activities terminated, Aug 1946, when residual assets were transferred to United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

Instrumental in the official setting up of International Tracing Service (ITS), 1945, Frankfurt-Main (Germany), the Service having been in operation since 1943, London (UK), where it had been organized by the Allied military authorities.
