History

19 Dec 1984, Brazzaville (Congo Brazzaville), a Centre international de formation statistique (CIFS) having been created, Nov 1961, Yaoundé (Cameroon), for the particular needs of the Central African states and an Institut de formation statistique (IFS), having been formed, Jan 1969, Yaoundé, for all the African francophone countries (the latter became, 1975, a national institution, under the title 'Institut de statistique, de planification et d'économie appliquée (ISPEA)'). ISSEA is placed under the auspices of H-XD0228 - Union douanière et économique de l'Afrique centrale (UDEAC).

Aims

Provide the training of statisticians whose task is to create, manage and utilize statistical information for drawing up decisions of economic and social nature concerning the nation, the region or the enterprise.

Management Board, consisting of 2 representatives of CACEU member states (including one Minister per member state), 2 representatives of the General Secretariat of CACEU (including Secretary General) and representatives of ISSEA.
