History
Founded at inaugural meeting attended by heads of 16 Caribbean universities, following recommendations of meeting 1967, Tobago.
Aims
Promote positive, carefully directed efforts for Caribbean development; encourage contact, communication and collaboration among universities and research institutes of the greater Caribbean region, through meetings, joint undertakings in teaching and research, publications, staff and student exchange; work with national associations of universities to achieve excellence in teaching and research and to develop advanced level studies.
