Founded 1951, Brussels (Belgium). Restructured: at General Assembly, 28 Sep 1976, Krakow (Poland); Sep 2006, Geneva (Switzerland). Bylaws amended and adopted Sep 2006, Geneva. Part of B-XB1344 - International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth's Interior (IASPEI), which in its turn is a constituent association of A-XA2722 - International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG).
Aims
Promote seismological studies and projects in Europe, countries bordering the Mediterranean and immediate neighbours - from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge to the Urals and the Arctic Ocean to northern Africa.
