The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

Aims

Encourage and facilitate cooperation among members; inform members on European Community programmes and help them to participate in such programmes; place the competence and expertise of members in the service of developing Community programmes; encourage member countries to make use of Community databases and the databases of other member countries.

Encourages partnerships between members, particularly within the framework of Community programmes. Develops exchange of practical methods and data between database producers. Supports the creation of databases. Standards and thesaurus. Inventory and promotion of existing databases. Definition of information valuable to users (contents, means of access).
