New statutes adopted: 14 Dec 1965; 8 Jul 1983; and modified: 16 Oct 1986; 2 Aug 1991; 19 Aug 1994, Paris (France); 3 Sep 1997, Philadelphia PA (USA); Aug 2005, Fez (Morocco). Previously referred to in English as International Union of Lawyers and as Internationale Anwalts-Union -- Unione Internazionale degli Avvocati. Previously registered in accordance with Belgian Law. Since 1 jan 2012, registered in accordance with French law.
Provide benefits for members including information and idea exchange, legal training and development of productive relationships; advance the fundamental principles of the legal profession; promote the rule of law; defend lawyers' independence and freedom to practice their profession.
