Founded by F-XF0910 - Eurotransplant International Foundation, Organización Nacional de Trasplantes (Spain) and the former 'Partnership for Organ Donation' (USA).
A foundation since 1998.
Aims
Increase organ and tissue donation rates; provide leadership in hospital organ donation processes and protocols; bring quality to the organ donation process within hospital critical care units through the Donor Action Programme; ensure that every hospital implementing the Programme realizes quantifiable, sustainable improvements in their donation process; collaborate with public and private organizations to implement the Programme as widely as possible; facilitate hospitals' internal review of donation practices and enable quality improvements in their organ donation processes; ensure that families of potential donors are treated in a professional, supportive and caring manner.
