History

27 Oct 1990, Toulouse (France), at 1st Forum - organized by chambers of commerce of Toulouse (France) and Strasbourg (France). Registered in accordance with French law. Name changed to 'Association d'initiatives pour le décloisonnement économie culture'.

Aims

Contribute to economic development through culture and to cultural development through the economy, by means of dialogue followed by collaboration at local, regional and international level between those active in economics and those active in culture, each the creator and producer of richesse; make heads of business and institutions aware of the growing importance of cultural activities in economic expansion and local development.

Structure

General Assembly (annual). Administrative Council, consisting of President, Vice-President/International Secretary-General, Vice-President/Treasurer, 6 further Vice-Presidents, Assistant Treasurer, auditors, technical consultants and representatives of associate bodies. Committee for information and liaison with cultural associations - 'Comité de liaison et d'information des associations culturelles (CLIAC)'. Secretariat in Toulouse (France). Regional and national committees. Local committees in France and elsewhere. Presidents of local, national and international committees attend Council meetings and are in the process of setting up a 'Collège des acteurs culturels'.
