History

28 Nov 1887, Piacenza (Italy), by blessed John Baptist Scalabrini, as a clerical religious congregation. Constitution approved 15 Aug 1948. Also known as Scalabrini Fathers and Pious Society of the Missionaries of St Charles for Migrants (PSSC) -- Missionnaires de Saint Charles.

Aims

Provide pastoral care to migrants and refugees.

Operates: shelter homes for refugees; migrants in transit; deported aliens; seamen; elderly migrants; centers for migration studies; radio and television programs; formation houses for religious and lay people. Set up: Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN).
