The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

1994
History
1994, by E-XE2442 - European Commission (EC), as part of the 4th RTD Framework Programme of F-XF2147 - European Union (EU) for the period 1994-1998. Also referred to as Telematics Applications for the Environment. One of 12 sectors included in the Programme Telematics Applications of Common Interest. Together with ICT for Transport and the Environment, comprises Telematics Applications for Transport and Environment -- Applications télématiques pour les transports et l'environnement. No longer operational.
Aims
Within the European Union and in the framework of automatic warning and integrated monitoring systems concerning pollution levels in the atmosphere, rivers or sea: support development of projects in various domains, including urban areas, industrial plants, coastal areas or river basins; in particular, support research on development of environmental management tools and systems for improved decision-making through interconnection and improved accessibility of environmental information networks and databases.
