The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).


Initiated by Prime Ministers of the 11 Baltic Sea countries at Baltic Sea States Summit, 3-4 May 1996, Visby (Sweden). Programme document and set up approved by Foreign ministers at the meeting of Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS), 22-23 June 1998, Nyborg (Denmark). Full title: Agenda 21 for the Baltic Sea Region. No activities reported since 2015.


Provide a framework for cooperation and an action programme for sustainable development to achieve a sustainable Baltic Sea region through partnership and cooperation among countries, international organizations, business, NGOs, international financial institutions and other relevant stakeholders.

Baltic 21 Secretariat organizes SOG Meetings SOG Bureau Meetings, Lead Party and Responsible Actor Meetings, as well as meetings held by individual Sectors, Joint Actions and Spatial Planning.
