17 Sep 1956, provisionally. Constitution adopted 4 Feb 1959. Statutes modified 10 May 1979. Formerly known as International Federation of Retail Distributors -- Fédération internationale des grandes et moyennes entreprises de distribution (FIGED) -- Internationale Vereinigung der Mittel- und Grossbetriebe des Einzelhandels. Registered in accordance with the Belgian law. Ceased to exist Apr 2006.

Represent retail distributors; defend common professional interests; give information to members; facilitate exchange of information between them.
