Historically a forerunner of D-XD0868 - European Space Agency (ESA), which, although set up 14 Jun 1962, Paris, on signature of Convention which entered into force 20 Mar 1964, only came into 'de facto' operation, under its current name, on signature, 31 May 1975, of a new Convention, opened for signature on 30 May 1975. CETS ceased activity in 1970.
