Commonwealth Equity Fund (CEF)
Sep 1990, as a private placement with institutional investors in Britain, Canada and the United States. The Economic Affairs Division of Commonwealth Secretariat proposed the idea and had a catalytic role in establishment concept of the Fund. According to the agreement of the Commonwealth governments, the Fund is a commercial operation. Ceased to exist.

Operates on a commercial basis with no official financial support. Investment is mainly in countries with established stock markets although up to 30% of capital may be invested in unquoted securities.
