History

Bylaws adopted at 2nd conference, Jun 1992, Lübeck-Travemünde (Germany); modified, 2002, Florence. Merged with Global Strategy Task Force of U-XF2229 - SIDS International to form D-XM0810 - International Society for the Study and Prevention of Perinatal and Infant Death (ISPID), 2004.

Aims

Foster research on all aspects of and provide a forum for exchange of information pertaining to research on infant deaths; promote education and training in infant death research; establish and maintain standards of reporting and classifying data; promote joint research, standardization and prevention projects throughout Europe.

Structure

General Assembly (annual). Executive Committee of at least 7 meets at least annually. Officers: Executive Chairperson; Vice-Chairperson; Executive Secretary; Treasurer and at least 2 members. Permanent Workgroups, each directed by a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Secretary. Scientific Committee comprises officers of Permanent Workgroups and the members of the Executive Committee. Coordinating Board comprises members of the Executive Committee and representatives of parents' groups or associations.
