The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

Aug 1984, Geneva (Switzerland), at 1st International Conference of NGOs on the Question of Palestine, convened by United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP), as an Interim Coordinating Committee (Article 7 of the Resolution). Most recent name adopted at 2nd International Conference on the Question of Palestine, Sep 1985, Geneva. Ceased to exist.

Aims

Study the best means to reach and inform public opinion; give to NGOs the tools necessary for their action in the various fields: political, human rights, and development; prepare, in cooperation with the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People and the Division for Palestine Rights, the agenda on International and Regional Conferences; ensure that the resolutions adopted by International Meetings are implemented; work out ways of collaboration with the United Nations' Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People and the Division for Palestinian Rights.

Activities

ICCP Office activities: Develops the network of NGOs committed to solidarity with the Palestinian people and the cause of peace for all the people in the Middle East and works for the right of self-determination and the right for a Palestinian State based on United Nations resolutions. on the border of Israel. Helps NGOs to implement the International or Regional Conference resolutions on the Question of Palestine. Sends information about the political situation, human rights violations, or humanitarian projects, to various NGOs which use it to inform public opinion. Launches an action alert in case of events threatening peace and justice or violating human rights in the Middle East and especially in the Occupied Territories. Brings NGOs into contact with one another so that they share their researches, information and their action for the general good.
