1669, Ghent (Belgium), as a non-cloistered congregation of R-XR2113 - Order of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Visitation Nuns). First rule written by Antonius Gillemans, 1671. In the 17th century, referred to as Sales Sisters; name changed to Sisters of Our Lady of the Visitation - Ghent in the early 19th century; present title agreed by the Order, 1930.
