The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1979, under the name North West European Chapter of FIMS, as a regional association of International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS). Previously also known as North-European Chapter of Sports Medicine. Current constitution adopted 1998. Since 2017, largely merged into European Federation of Sports Medicine Associations (EFSMA).

Aims

Serve as a discussion forum; promote sports medicine in general; develop and harmonize education in sports medicine; exchange scientific data and engage in common research projects, where feasible; encourage contacts between diverse sports medicine organizations in various countries; have sport and exercise medicine recognized as a specialty/subspecialty.
