The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

Following merger of International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU) and WCL, Nov 2006, into International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), unification of regional bodies expected by Nov 2007. Ceased to exist, 4 Sep 2007, during dissolution congress, Bangalore (India). Activities taken over by International Trade Union Confederation - Asian and Pacific Regional Organization (ITUC-AP).


Further advance the cause of unionism in Asian society; institutionalize Asian Trade Federations (ATFs) in its formal structure and promote formation/expansion of national trade federations as a strategy to organize and deliver services to members and develop 'workers' action towards more comprehensive social goals.
