Create a forum for interaction between professionals involved in negotiation of external loans and management of external debts; collate documentation and expertise on international loan negotiation and documentation on debt management with emphasis on legal aspects; disseminate information on legal aspects of debt management; conduct research to improve quality of debt management and encourage professionalism and specialization; engage in public enlightenment activities; make recommendations to government on the state of the law on international debt management issues with a view to reform and development of such laws; ensure that international loan agreements comply with and conform to laws and standards set in Nigeria; act as a watchdog for maintenance of standards.
