Oct 1984, Arusha (Tanzania UR), and charged with the responsibility of establishing an institutional means for collective African NGO effort to pursue the implementation of UN Forward Looking Strategies for the Advancement of Women which were the major outcome of the End of the Decade for Women Activities Conference, 1985, Nairobi (Kenya). Met in Apr 1988, Nairobi, and fulfilled its mandate by founding F-XF2166 - African Women's Development and Communication Network (FEMNET).
