The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).


1992, by merger of Asian Grain Legumes Network (AGLN), set up in 1986, and Cooperative Cereals Research Network (CCRN), created in 1988. A network of scientists working on mandate crops of International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) in the Asian region.


Assist national programs in Asian region by strengthening research capabilities to enhance research on and development of sorghum, pearl millet, chickpea, pigeonpea and groundnut.

Supports diverse activities and assists initiation of new activities as needed by members. These activities include: exchange germplasm and breeding material; working groups; collaborative research; human resource development; information exchange. Involved in specially funded country projects to strengthen in-country backup research and on-farm research.
