Founded
1869
History
Established by trilateral postal agreement between Denmark, Norway and Sweden; extended agreement including Finland and Iceland came into force on 1 Jan 1935. Further agreement of 11 Nov 1946 adopted present title. Revised agreement, within the scope of Nordic Postal Union, came into force on 1 Jul 1991. A Restricted Union of B-XB3408 - Universal Postal Union (UPU).
Aims
Further postal cooperation between Nordic countries and operators in the rest of the world; improve and develop postal connections among Nordic countries; enhance views of Nordic postal operators in matters relating to activities of the UPU; facilitate cross-border operational capability.
