Oct 1996, Lisbon (Portugal), as Commission for North Africa and Near East, within the framework of H-XB1823 - International Federation for Information and Documentation (FID). FID has ceased to exist due to lack of finance although continues to exist formally as a legal entity.
Assist libraries and information centres in Arab countries, Mali, Chad and Niger and provide the main tools to develop their information systems and services; contribute to the setting up of library and information centre infrastructure in the region.
