The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History
Founded 19 Nov 1976, Washington DC (USA), when the Agreement to set up the Subcenter was signed. Activities commenced 16 Aug 1977. Officially inaugurated 24 Oct 1977. Also referred to in English as Regional Subcenter for Folk Art and Crafts and under the Spanish acronym SRAAP. As of 2016, ceased to exist.

Serve as a center for research, information and vulgarization of folk arts and crafts.
