History

Founded within D-XD0688 - European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), by merger of U-XF1715 - European Trade Union College (ETUCO), U-XE7101 - European Trade Union Institute (ETUI) and U-XF1127 - European Trade Union Technical Bureau for Health and Safety (TUTB).

Aims

Conduct studies on socio-economic topics and industrial relations; monitor European policy development of importance for the world of labour; create bridges between the academic sphere; the world of research and the trade union movement to encourage independent research relevant to the world of labour; encourage training and learning activities for the ETUC and its affiliates with programmes and exchanges that strengthen the European trade union identity; provide technical assistance in the field of health and safety with a view to achieving a high level of occupational health and safety protection for workers throughout Europe.
