within the framework of Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa (ASARECA) with International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) as a scientific partner.
Facilitate regional multidisciplinary and multi-partner/client collaboration on technology development and dissemination, addressing priority constraints to maize and wheat production and value added traits (nutritional and processing) in Eastern and Central Africa while maintaining the agricultural resource base; mobilize and manage resources for this research on a regional basis.Available with paid subscription only.
Major activities: coordinate development of stable stress tolerant, high yielding consumer oriented maize and wheat activities; develop sustainable crop management practices; improve post-harvest storage, processing and utilization technologies; enhance technology adoption and impact assessment; strengthen capacity of national agricultural research systems (NARS) to develop client-oriented technologies.
