Founded

1988

History

Founded under the patronage of F-XF5262 - Open Society Foundations (OSF) with support of F-XF1885 - The Rockefeller Foundation, under the title International Management Centre, Budapest (IMC). Became an affiliated business school of F-XF5067 - Central European University (CEU), 2001. Ceased to exist when merged with Department of Economics to become Department of Economics and Business.

Aims

Train future business leaders with a sense of social responsibility and public leaders with management skills; act as a catalyst, by playing an active role in introducing American style business education to the public and private sectors of the still transforming economies 'east of the EU'; provide undergraduate and graduate education to students from Central-Eastern Europe and across the globe; advance business and society issues in Hungary through thought-provoking research, workshops and conferences; improve the practice of management and leadership through executive education and development for all levels of managers.
