Declaration published Oct 1987. 'Appeal for the World States-General' launched Mar 1988. Study sessions - 'Journées de Vézelay' - held 1989 to 1991. Declaration of June 1990 reaffirmed values and views and lead the way for 'Preparatory Convention for the World States-General', 27-30 Sep 1993, Les Vaux de Cernay (France), which developed Alliance for a Responsible and United World. A founding event for the creation of Etats généraux de la Planète, a means for the world's peoples to define a common perspective for the 21st century, is proposed for 1999.
