Founded 18 Dec 1971, Lima (Peru), at 1st Meeting of Ministers of Health. as an Andean integration organ of the T-XT6969 - Andean Subregional Integration Agreement (Cartagena Agreement). A Social Agreement of F-XF4919 - Sistema Andino de Integración (SAI) within the framework of F-XD0055 - Andean Community to complement integration efforts in the economic and trade sectors with action in the health field. Also referred to also under the acronym CHU.
Harmonize and shape policies; provide a space for sharing of experiences; devise strategies in response to common health problems.
