Established 1974, under the auspices of UNESCO Office, Jakarta - Regional Bureau for Sciences in Asia and the Pacific, at the initiative of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Previously referred to a Regional Network for Microbiology in Southeast Asia -- Réseau de l'Asie du Sud-Est sur la microbiologie.
Strengthen research and training capabilities of national faculties and institutions through regional programmes; promote regional cooperation in the advancement of science.Available with paid subscription only.
Participates in cooperative research; arranges exchange of scientists' scheme which provides to young scientists the opportunity to study at institutions in other countries of the regional network; organizes training courses and regional workshops; offers travel grants provided to scientists to attend scientific conferences.
