The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1950, as an internal organ of Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Works in the framework of: Regulations applying to staff, former officials, auxiliary staff and employees (Resolution of the Council adopted 30 Sep 1961, amended 21 Dec 1982); Regulations for Council Experts and Consultants (adopted 30 Sep 1961, amended 5 Mar 1963, 21 Dec 1982); and Rules of Procedure (adopted 10 June 1983). Activities taken over, Dec 1991, by Administrative Tribunal of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Aims

As a genuine administrative tribunal, decide and issue binding decisions on legal grounds in individual disputes arising from decisions by the Secretary-General of OECD which officials, former officials or duly qualified claimants consider as an injury to them.
