History

12 Sep 1981, Heidelberg (Germany FR), as European Federation of Professional Psychologists Associations (EFPPA), when statutes were adopted. Current statutes adopted July 1997. Current name adopted July 2001. Previously also referred to in German as Europäische Föderation der Berufsverbände von Psychologen (EFBP).

Aims

Promote communication and cooperation between member associations and contribute to their development; further establishment of ethical codes of practice for psychologists; promote furtherance of psychology and its application; support member associations in promoting the interest of psychology within their own countries; facilitate contacts with international bodies of psychology; promote development of professional psychology.
