Promote cooperation among botanists, biochemists and zoologists in considering the influence of insects in the direct interaction between the plant world and the animal kingdom; concentrate research efforts on major problems in the field; promote integrated research by entomologists and plant physiologists; agree on standardization of physiological and behavioural methods and procedures.
