Sponsors and promotes: 'Universal Letter Writing Week' each year 1-7 January; 'Celebration of Love Week' during second full week in February; 'International Friendship Week' last week in February; 'Universal Women's Week' 8-14 March; 'Universal Amateur Radio Month' 1-30 April; 'Universal Family Week' second week in May; 'International Volunteers Week' 1-7 June; 'Freedom Week' 4-10 July; 'Self Improvement Month' 1-30 September; 'Universal Children's Week' 1-7 October; 'Peace Friendship and Good Will Week' 24-31 October; 'World Communication Week' 1-7 November; 'Human Rights Week' 10-16 December, distributing copies of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; 'Interlanguage Week' 15-21 December; 'Human Rights Month' 1-31 December; 'International Hall of Fame' honouring persons who have made significant contributions to humanity through their service in government, business, industry, education, and the arts and sciences. Offers home-study courses in Esperanto. Holds annual meetings usually the last week in July or the first week in Aug in conjunction with UEA World Congress. Operates a book service for members.
