Nov 1976, Nairobi (Kenya), as a Fund for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of Outstanding Universal Value -- Fonds pour la protection du patrimoine mondial culturel et naturel de valeur universelle exceptionnelle -- Fondo para la Protección del Patrimonio Cultural y Natural Mundial de Valor Universal Excepcional, within the framework of E-XE2358 - World Heritage Committee, under Articles 15-18 of the T-XT7205 - Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage (World Heritage Convention). Constitutes a trust fund in conformity with the provisions of Financial Regulation of the B-XB3383 - UNESCO. The E-XE3055 - World Heritage Centre (WHC) is responsible for the administration of the Fund.
Help States, upon their request, to safeguard the World Heritage properties situated on their territory; as a mechanism for international solidarity, translate responsibility of the world's community for the world's heritage into action.
