Evolved from efforts by the Surface Mining Association for Research and Technology (SMART) members. Originally a committee under the CIM Surface Mining Society. Became an independent legal entity, Nov 2021.
Aims
Facilitate and drive the application, utilization and development of global mining standards and guidelines; enable a global community and knowledge hub to support standards and guidelines as positive tools for the global mining industry.
