History
Declaration of Intent signed Nov 2008. Operates on the basis of the Treaty relating to the establishment of the Functional Airspace Block "Europe Central" between the Federal Republic of Germany, the Kingdom of Belgium, the French Republic, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Swiss Confederation (FABEC Treaty), signed Dec 2010. Operational since June 2013.
Aims
Achieve optimal performance in the areas relating to safety, environmental sustainability, capacity, cost-efficiency, flight efficiency and military mission effectiveness, by the design of airspace and the organization of air traffic management in the airspace concerned regardless of existing boundaries.
Structure
Council; ANSP Strategic Board; ANSP Consultation Board. Permanent bodies: FABEC States Bureau; ANSP FABEC Group. Standing Committees for Operations, Safety, Technology, Environment, HR and Training, Social Dialogue and Institutional questions.
