History
Founded 15 Jun 2009, Seattle WA (USA), following the Grand Challenges Partnership, first announced in 'Nature' in 2007, which was inspired by a study published in 'Nature' involving a Delphi panel recruited from 50 countries around the world.
Aims
Initiate, facilitate and support joint research activities on chronic, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and in vulnerable and indigenous communities in high-income countries (HIC); contribute to development and sharing of the evidence base with which policymakers draft and implement strategies for improving the health of their constituencies.
