CDIO stands for Conceive Design Implement Operate.
Educate students to master a deeper working knowledge of the technical fundamentals of engineering; educate engineers to lead in the creation and operation of new products and systems; educate future researchers to understand the importance and strategic value of their work.Available with paid subscription only.
Serves as an educational framework for producing the next generation of engineers; provides student education stressing engineering fundamentals set in the context of Conceiving - Designing - Implementing - Operating real-world systems and products. Student projects are complemented by internships in industry. Features active group learning experiences in both classrooms and in modern learning workshops/laboratories, and rigorous assessment and evaluation processes. The Initiative is designed as a template that can be adapted and adopted by an university engineering school. Participating universities (Collaborators) regularly develop materials and approaches to share with others. Collaborating institutions gather several times a year to exchange ideas and experiences, review development at each institution, assess the Initiative's progress and further refine the project. Organizes: Annual International Conference; regional meetings.
