History
9 Mar 1995, by governments of Japan, Korea Rep and USA, following signature of the Agreement on the Establishment of KEDO, to implement key provisions of the Agreed Framework between USA and Korea DPR, which promised Korea DPR 2 light-water reactors (LWR) of the Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plant model in return for the country's freezing of its nuclear programme. LWR project terminated, 31 Mar 2006, following failure on the part of Korea DPR to perform the necessary steps. Organization continues to fulfill legal and financial obligations.
