History

18 July 1977, London (UK), as an international council; formerly called Congregational Council for World Mission. Known also as Council for World Mission - Congregational and Presbyterian. The Council continues the work of: London Missionary Society, set up 1795, Commonwealth Missionary Society which came into being 1836, and Presbyterian Church of England Overseas Mission Committee, formed in 1847.

Aims

Spread knowledge of Christ throughout the world by sharing resource such as mission ideas, people, financial resources and power among member Churches.

Programmes (3): Mission Education Unit; Mission Programme Unit; Personnel and Training Unit. Sharing ideas about mission; sharing people in mission (exchanges of full time mission partners, long and short term workers); finance and stewardship.
