Jul 1983, Monrovia (Liberia), by the Bishops of H-XD9038 - Association of Episcopal Conferences of Anglophone West Africa (AECAWA), at its 3rd Plenary Assembly. Statutes last amended by Executive Meeting, 6-7 Feb 1997, Banjul (Gambia). Ceased to exist when AECAWA was dissolved, 2007.
Foster increased cooperation and development in catechetics among AECAWA countries and find ways and means to accomplish this; coordinate their efforts in all areas of catechetics in order to increase possibilities, avoid duplication, and reduce expenses; serve AECAWA and its members in matters proper to or related to catechetics and religious education; cooperate with other international bodies for catechetics.

Executive Committee (meets at least once a year), comprising Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and one representative from each AECAWA country.
