The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

Aims
Create and develop in young persons a desire to participate actively in service and voluntary work; provide a common platform for regular exchange of information and news in order to further true international understanding, friendship and cooperation; facilitate extension of young men's service clubs in all countries in the interest of building a better world community as a means towards permanent peace.

A federation of individual national associations. Annual Conference elects General Secretary for 3-year term and confirms appointment of regional representatives for one-year terms. Each national association is also a member of one of the following: E-XE2022 - Round Table International (RTI), set up 1946, merged with the World Council in 1961; G-XG0556 - Active 20-30 International formed by merger of '20-30 International' and 'Active International'; 'CREST of Australia'; 'JECC of Japan'.
