The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).


20 Sep 1996, Uppsala (Sweden), at IUPAP 22nd General Assembly, following a 2-year activity by a working group, as a Commission (C 20) of International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP). Currently serves as an internal commission.


Promote information exchange in the area of computational studies of problems originating in or relevant to physics, including: numerical and symbolic models and algorithms for the simulation of physical systems; computational control and data processing of experiments; physical basis of computer machinery.

Presents recommendations related to advancement of Computational Physics, including improved education, exchange of information and sponsorship of international conferences related to the field; may designate Associate Members working in the industry or universities to improve contact with people working in the field. Organizes several international conference series, including Annual International Conference on Computational Physics (CCP), successor of EPS-APS Joint Conferences Physics Computing (PC) organized annually since 1989.
